Your Next PC: a MacBook Neo?

Apple has just announced an all new MacBook Neo and it’s got us all wondering: “are you the one?” Short answer for most people: absolutely.

It means know thy self. I wanna tell you a little secret, being the one is just like being in love. No one needs to tell you you are in love, you just know it, through and through.

Buy or Upgrade

For many people out there this is a no-brainer. Let’s start with the price: coming in at $600 or $500 with educational discounts this is an unbeatable bang for your buck.

At a time when all computing component prices are skyrocketing due to consolidated markets shifting to only serve AI companies, Apple throws their market prowess into a deal that is almost too good to be true.

Meanwhile Microsoft have spent the last year making continual annoyances and anti-consumer behavior. While Microsoft attempts to fix problems, their results have been notably lacking. And with last year’s retirement of Windows 10, it’s got many people wondering is there anything else that’s easier to deal with?

That’s why we couldn’t be more delighted to hear Apple announce the MacBook Neo. It’s got all the wonderful design Apple is known for and well optimized parts at a deal you won’t get anywhere else. It’s got a beautiful aluminum body in your choice of several styles, touch ID scanner, a great screen, HD camera, and all day battery life. Alan has been using his MacBook Pro M2 for a while now and loves how well it works for everything. These MacBook Neo’s promise to have all the benefits with fewer bells and whistles at a very affordable price.

We’ve even looked into Google’s Chromebooks but they have a glaring issue of a licensing issue where they decide to quit supporting security and software updates after a set time. Apple is not perfect on this front either, but generally has longer product support lifecycles and real world durability than Google, Microsoft, or any systems that run Android, ChromeOS, or Windows.

* There’s several ways to run Windows only software that can work with a Mac:

  • In a Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac (We suggest MacBook Pros for this)
  • On a Cloud hosted PC that you login to
  • Using compatibility software
  • Find an alternative that works on macOS

Considerations for Work

But what if I get a Neo for workers at my office? Glad you asked, it’s super simple to integrate Mac’s into our existing tools for secure remote management and support.

In fact with all the headaches Microsoft has introduced to Windows 11, it’s at least just as easy to setup our secure remote management and support tools on a Mac, if not easier.
