Avoid Discord by March 2026

Due to concerning privacy changes we recommend you discontinue all professional and personal use of the Discord App by March 1st, 2026.

Discord: Strange Name, Powerful App

Discord is an app for computers and mobile devices that enables text, voice, and video chat along with screen sharing/streaming. It is popular among many communities, especially video game players. Your company may not use it, but you may have employees with mixed – use devices that use it or it may be a concern if your employees have it on personal devices.

Privacy Concerns

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: be wary of giving up privacy and liberty. Especially when it comes to government issued identity cards. Because once that data gets out it’s like trying to squeeze toothpaste back into its tube: nearly impossible and you just get messy and frustrated. And there’s real lasting damage that can be done from this.

Discord claims it is trying to protect children from sensitive content, but it appears to be trying to eventually roll out the age check via government ID collection to all people on its platform.

Mere months ago Discord leaked 70,000 Government IDs. Don’t give them the opportunity to make that mistake twice: leave their platform and delete your account.

This type of creepy large corporation overreach is also feeding into government’s ability to persecute and deny your rights. It doesn’t matter if it’s your guy in elected office today, it won’t always be. Let’s all fight for eveyone’s freedom in America and it starts with us taking care of ourselves and pushing back on overreach regardless of the company or government in charge. You wouldn’t negotiate a contract that violates or infringes your rights and liberties, and you shouldn’t accept that from a company’s tech either.
